Discover insights from Saeed Muhammad is the Health and Safety Manager at Nikki Beach Dubai. Nikki Beach is a lifestyle brand that opened in Dubai in 2016. The beautifully located beach hotel has 117 keys, 15 villas, a celebration suite, and a beach club.

Were you part of the decision to sign BE WTR for your water?

It was a team effort with many different aspects, all departments together got it signed. Our leaders at Nikki Beach are passionate about sustainability and always encourage us to take initiative. BE WTR was one of the projects that were successfully executed by the Nikki Beach team collectively.

Did your organisation look at other solutions?

Yes, as you know we look at different sustainability initiatives and we were approached by a different supplier. We looked into it, but we found BE WTR to be more flexible and customised to our brand. Also, delivery, service, and product are good.

In hotel operations – what is important when it comes to water?

Water is the main element of living! And when it comes to Nikki Beach it is one of our highest selling products. We must make sure that we provide our guests a premium quality water.

For your in-room water, how important is long shelf life?

BE WTR has provided us with a solution that works very well for us, with both screwcaps and aluminium caps. The first ones we keep for three days, and the second for two weeks. This works well with our operations, and the recommendations from the authorities.

Is it important to have a brand in the room set up?

Yes, Nikki Beach is iconic and at the top of the resort list. We need to have in-room brands that people can rely on and trust. And for F&B – what are the 3 most important things there when it comes to water? Water is the main element in Food & Beverage. So, it’s water, water, and water. Or I can maybe say: BE WTR, BE WTR, and BE WTR.

What do you do for food safety norms when it comes to your F&B offering?

Food safety is everything when it comes to the restaurant operations. So, we look after food safety: not just because we have to, but because it is our moral responsibility! Everything we serve must always be safe and healthy!

How do you communicate sustainability internally?

We do campaigns and gatherings to create awareness and educate people. We also work on available resources to spread information and awareness on sustainability through different channels such as social media, TV screens, posters, and gatherings.

Do you have any advice for other hotels or restaurants when it comes to choosing water solutions?

Yes, when it comes to choosing water, one needs to be very careful. It is a zero-error thing! We need to make sure the water is clean, hygienic, safe…When we chose BE WTR, we looked into so many details. The design of the bottle, it had to be a wide neck- for easy cleaning. The caps solution was important. And the filtration: we liked that it is premium quality and always followed regulations and standards.

Is there anything you think we could do better?

That’s a good question. BE WTR does a fantastic job, and we chose you because you are one of the best in the market. My wish would be that in the future, your dishwasher (that is of good quality) would also be branded BE WTR.
