CHAT GPT on filtering water: “It gives you peace of mind”

If you ask Chat GPT why you should filter your drinking water, it points out that the water can contain bacteria, viruses, heavy metals, pesticides and industrial chemicals (does certainly not sound like a cocktail you want to gulp down). It also adds that by filtering the water you will improve its sensory qualities, since the filter eliminates unpleasant tastes and odors. Before going into an uplifting nudge about how to improve the taste of your favorite coffee or tea by filtering the water before boiling it, (“you can become a home beverage connoisseur”) it also reminds us of the importance of taking out chlorine. All good advice, and certainly all things that we, as a brand, stand behind.

And on the follow up question if it is really necessary to filter your drinking water even in Europe, the helpful AI presents a long list of smart arguments and ends with a more philosophical one: it gives you peace of mind, because you know that you and your family will hydrate in a better way.

Peace of mind is not at all a bad argument in this day and time, when even sharks (!) test positive for cocaine. But let’s not defocus. Back to Chat GPT and his/her/their thoughts about filtering your drinking water. We continued by asking about hydration. And got a somewhat surprisingly recommendation back – the nuance of your pee:

“Ensuring you drink enough water each day is crucial. The recommended daily intake varies depending on factors like age, gender, weight, and activity level. A general guideline is about 8 glasses (2 liters) per day, but individual needs can vary. Listen to your body’s signals, such as thirst and urine color (light yellow is a good indicator of proper hydration).”

So – AI technology has spoken: There are many important reasons for why you should filter your drinking water, because of chemicals, or traces of medicines and metals, or to eliminate bad taste and smell. All this can efficiently, as smartly suggested by Chat GPT, be summarized in “for your peace of mind”. And when it comes to how much water you should drink it also had a clear and colorful answer.

“Though all this is common knowledge for Chat GPT, many consumers do not pay much attention to the quality of the two liters of water they drink daily,” says Simon Claeys, COO at BE WTR. At BE WTR, we want to you drink the best water for you and the environment. That’s why we strive to always go the extra mile and innovate in filtration. Right now, we are working on very interesting things, but our R&D department have said I can’t share it just yet.”

The poet Henry David Thoreau once said: I believe that water is the only drink for a wise man. He is surely still right, but today he would probably have added that the water should be filtered.
