Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental, in the heart of Abu Dhabi, is the perfect mix between limitless, luxury hospitality and a strong ecological commitment. The legendary estate, covering more than 100 hectares, 14 000 m2 and 1.3 km of pristine, private beach, is today plastic free. Now the Emirates Palace initiates the next important sustainability chapter, together with premium water brand BE WTR. The result? A significant reduction in C02 emissions and an enhanced customer experience.
The commitment from Mandarin Oriental to responsibly operate and manage both environmental impacts and social commitments, have set new sustainability standards for the international hospitality industry. As pioneers in the sector, they are already on their 12th year of sustainability reporting. Five-star Emirates Palace’s new partnership with BE WTR, will further and significantly reduce the CO2 emissions by impressive 272 tons yearly. The equivalent of 151 full flights between Abu Dhabi and New York.
Michael Koth, GM Emirates Palace: “With Mandarin Oriental’s worldwide mission to be a sustainable leader within luxury hospitality, we understood we had to produce qualitative water on-site at the Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. To cut carbon emission, take out single-use bottles and eliminate transport. With BE WTR, we have a great partner that does it for us across the entire hotel and we work together to educate the market.”
BE WTR will produce 2000 bottles per day to guarantee premium, sustainable hydration for the guests of Emirates Palace. Thanks to the on-site, state-of-the-art bottling system, operated by BE WTR, the highest standards of hygiene and excellency are ensured. At the same time the guests can enjoy a premium water brand, known from renown, luxury hotels and restaurants in many places of the world.
“We are very proud to start this important collaboration with Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental. We share the strong values of working towards a green future, while offering a great guest experience. It is the best way to start our Abu Dhabi operations, where we plan to operate additional on-site bottling plus develop our premium gastronomy offering”, says Luigi Bologna, Managing Director of BE WTR. Another common denominator for the two parties, alongside the ecological drive, is high gastronomy. The Emirates Palace Mandarin Oriental is famous for its mouth-watering cuisine with both Talea by Antonio Guida and Hakkasan having received prestigious Michelin stars. BE WTR is, since this September, the international, chosen water partner for world known Bocuse D’or and Sirah.
