Rivers do so much more than just flow—they are the veins of our planet. They provide drinking water for millions, sustain ecosystems, and are vital for agriculture, energy, and recreation. They house countless species, playing a critical role in maintaining biodiversity and supporting the global water cycle.

Yet, our rivers are facing serious threats. Pollution, climate change, and habitat destruction jeopardize their health—and ultimately, ours. World River Day is our reminder to protect these precious waterways and appreciate the fresh water that flows into our daily lives.

Our Commitment: 1% for the Planet and Local Action in Switzerland

At BE WTR, we believe that protecting water resources is not just a responsibility—it’s a commitment we’re proud to uphold. As members of 1% for the Planet, we actively support environmental initiatives that safeguard our rivers and ecosystems.

One such project we’re thrilled to support is the ‘Rivière de Biodiversité’ project by the One Nature Foundation and La Maison de la Rivière in Switzerland. Together, we’re working to rejuvenate a local river in Lully, VD, allowing Mother Nature to reclaim her territory.

Our team got hands-on by planting trees to welcome the water source and help revive biodiversity in the area. It’s the first step in a larger effort to restore the natural balance and create a thriving environment for local wildlife.
