We are proud members of 1% for the Planet. This means we give 1% of our turnover to environmental causes. Naturally we have chosen local, water related organisations, that we can grow and develop together with. Apart from the money we are also out in the projects, working hands on with our teams. It builds pride, commitment and gives us an abundance of fresh air.
We searched a long time before finding a suitable, French project. Then we met Camille Singer, co-founder of the foundation Forêt et Faune Savage, who works in beautiful Espace Rambouillet, just outside Paris.
Espace Rambouillet is a magnificent forest, with a rich history and an impressive fauna. The ponds of the forest were once the water reservoirs of kings and nobilities in Versailles. (This is of course extra interesting for us, given the specific line of business we are in). Now the ponds are home to endangered salamanders. We will work with Forêt et Faune Savage to ensure the future of the amphibian and the delicate ecosystem of the ponds.
As Pierre Singer said at the kick-off: this is only the beginnng. We couldn’t agree more!
